Conceptual distinctions & perspectives

Separate fact, interpretation, and choice

“I failed again” combines an event with a judgment. What happened, exactly?

Fact

A situation you can describe: you left the book closed after arriving home late. Avoid turning one episode into “always” or “never.”

Interpretation

The meaning you assigned: “I have no discipline.” This is a hypothesis, not a proven identity. What supports or changes that reading?

Constraint

What was outside your control? Recognizing a real limitation is not making an excuse. Fair expectations begin with reality.

Choice

What do you want to do with what you understood? The copilot can organize the answer you build; it must not fill that space with orders.

In health, distress, or violence, do not treat limitations as moral failures or insist on confrontation.
